Dragon Ball Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 51 Sold for $25,691

Have you ever heard the saying, "You are worth more when you die than when you lived"? It is a statement that seems to be belittling those who have passed away, but it is a truth that we have to accept in the business world. This can happen to some artists, actors, or singers who were very famous during their lives, becoming legends. However, as time goes by, their popularity gradually declines. But then suddenly, the artist or singer who created that work dies suddenly. For example, Michael Jackson, whose merchandise or autographed items immediately increase in value several times. Similarly, the case of Dragon Ball creator Toriyama, who passed away suddenly on March 1, 2024, caused many of his collectibles to increase in value. One of them was a brand new copy of Weekly Shonen Jump issue 51, which was auctioned for 3.8 million yen.

This news story comes from the auction at Mandarake held on March 7th, which was only 7 days after the 1 year anniversary of Toriyama's death. The item being auctioned was a Weekly Shonen Jump comic book issue 51, in brand new condition from 1984, with almost no signs of being read. It was auctioned and ended at 3.8 million yen, which is about 868,215 baht. This magazine is worth this much because it is the magazine that published the very first episode of the Dragon Ball manga. Therefore, it has a lot of sentimental value for fans. The starting price for the auction was 500,000 yen, or about 114,292 baht, but the auction ended at a value that was 7 times higher than the original.

And before this, there was also the manga Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka, which had the first volume published in the past, which was also sold at a sky-high price. This doesn't even include the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine that printed Kinnikuman, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure or the first episode of Saint Seiya, all of which had high prices when auctioned or sold. So it's no wonder that Weekly Shonen Jump, which has the first episode of Dragon Ball, would have such a high value. Meanwhile, another Weekly Shonen Jump magazine that was not expensive was Weekly Shonen Jump magazine issue 50, which advertised to fans that next week (in 1984) a new manga by Dr. Slump author, Dragon Ball, would be published. Just a few pages made the magazine instantly more valuable.

For those who are interested in collecting Weekly Shonen Jump issue 51, you can see it being sold at various auctions, but the price is so high that it is comparable to paying for a house or a car when calculated in Thai baht. For those who happen to have Weekly Shonen Jump issue 51, try auctioning it off. You might get a high price like this. Some people say that if Toriyama had not died, would this book have such a high auction price? This is something to think about when comparing the first chapters of many manga series published in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, which are much cheaper than this Dragon Ball issue. It makes us think back to the first sentence that said that death is more valuable than life. This must be true.

Latest Devil May Cry trailer on Netflix, release date announced

For those who don’t know, the Devil May Cry anime series on Netflix that we’re about to watch is not the first installment that the game has been adapted into an anime. Devil May Cry was previously adapted into an anime in 2007, which was a story about defeating demons that was just as fun as the game. For those who don’t know the characters and the game, Devil May Cry is about the present world where demons come out to create chaos because some demons can cross through dimensional gates. In the past, there was a demon general who fell in love with a human and had two twin sons. The father gave his power to both sons, along with his legendary sword. The older brother, Vergil, saw humans as termites that should stand above them. Dante, the younger brother, just wants pizza and rock music today. And this is the story of Dante, who swings his sword to help humans.

In terms of the content of this anime, Comic Book Resource reported that the storyline is inspired by Devil May Cry 3 Dante's Awakening, or simply put, it's a sequel to the third game in the series, which is the continuation of the story of the very first game in the series. If we rank the storyline of the Devil May Cry games, it would be part 3, which is the very first game in the series, followed by part 1, followed by part 2, then part 4, and the most recent is part 5. When we watched the trailer, we saw Vergil appear towards the end, which means that it's a story before the beginning of part 1. Because in part 1, Vergil was brainwashed to be a subordinate of the Demon King, and there is no heroine, Trish. In the trailer, there's only Lady, who they're not friends with at the moment (at the end of part 3, Lady knows that Dante is a good person, but they're not comrades in arms yet). We also get to see Dante's Devil Trigger (demon form) awaken again.

And from what we've seen in the trailer this time, Dante should be in for a really intense situation because he's always keeping a straight face in the trailer. Anyone who's played this game will know that Dante is always joking around and annoying. Even when fighting a serious demon, he can still be annoying, which is a characteristic that many people like about this character. But if he's always stressed, it means that it's probably intense. Or maybe the creators forgot his unique mischievous personality. We'll have to wait and see. For anyone interested in the Devil May Cry anime, it's scheduled to be released on April 3 on Netflix. When the series is released, we'll definitely review it for you to read. So stay tuned.

Kojima Gives Konami a Soft Nod in Death Stranding 2 On the Beach Trailer: It's Pure Snake

It's like a gentle pat on the face, but it hurts all the way to the heart. With the release of the latest trailer of the game about a young father and son delivery in a ruined world, Death Stranding 2 On the Beach, a sequel game that will complete the ending of the previous game, where everything seemed to end well because the power of love narrowly defeated the extermination of the human race. The rain accelerated time and the ghosts disappeared. But instead of the world returning to normal, it formed a new threat along with a new puzzle that connects to the first part. Sam had to pack his things, carry a suitcase, and connect to the world again. Everything seemed okay, nothing to criticize until the end of the trailer, which made Uncle Snake fans unable to sit still.

We believe many people must be wondering why gamers are so happy to see a man with a beard and a turban holding a gun, and the scene where the ship forms a head and a monster in the trailer for Death Stranding 2 On the Beach. We must go back to 2012, when the great god of the gaming industry, Hideo Kojima, was working at Konami. Suddenly, inside news came out that Mr. Kojima was having a problem with his parent company, Konami. It was so serious that the game Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain, which was in development, had to be released even though the game was still complete because it was missing the last part of the story. After Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain was released, Kojima resigned from Konami and was prevented from receiving awards for his game, Metal Gear Solid V, which he created. In addition, his name was removed from the development team's name, among many other things, until many people hated Konami to the core.

As time passed, Kojima's new studio did well because every game he produced was a hit. Moreover, people in the gaming industry wanted to be a part of the games he developed. One of them is Death Stranding. If you've played this game, in some scenes, you will be able to take part in a small war that has a feeling very similar to Metal Gear Solid. He also said that he is currently developing a spy game like Metal Gear Solid, but has not revealed any information yet. Until the most recent trailer for Death Stranding 2 On the Beach, the great god made fans sit on the edge of their seats when we saw a new character that appeared in the game trailer. He became a soldier to hunt us down in a dream world like in the first game. But what made fans excited is that this character looks exactly like Snake or Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid. You can tell right away that he intentionally put him in this game.

And if you're going to say that this is all made up and written by candlelight, or it might be just a coincidence, at the end of the Death Stranding 2 On the Beach trailer, we'll see the combination of the ship that Sam is riding with a large monster, which gives off a more giant robot vibe. But for Metal Gear Solid fans, they'll shout out loud that that's clearly Sahelanthropus, the Metal Gear robot from Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain (image below). If you encounter this, you probably can't say that it's a coincidence. But it's definitely a gentle slap in the face for Konami. Because we all know that Konami doesn't know what to do with the series, so they remade Metal Gear Solid 3 under the name Metal Gear Solid Δ Snake Eater, which will be released this year.

If we were to imagine in a vague way according to the language of people in the game industry, maybe what Kojima did in the Death Stranding 2 On the Beach trailer might be telling fans that Metal Gear Solid, even if it's a remake of the old one, it still can't compete with the original creator of this game. Because the soul of the Metal Gear Solid game is Kojima, who cannot be replaced by anyone. The most he can do is just adjust the graphics. He can't make a new game. While the true creator will know what Metal Gear Solid is and can bring it out to the fullest. Even in a game with similar characters, fans are this happy. If Kojima really comes back to make Metal Gear Solid, how happy will fans all over the world be? Just thinking about it makes us want it to be true.

March 10 of every year is MAR10 Day.

When it comes to video game characters that many people have known for decades, even those who don’t play games know this character. Who else could it be but the legendary plumber (I’m not small) Mario Brother? Every March 10th is the day that Uncle Mustache’s fans celebrate and declare this day as his birthday or MAR10 Day. It’s an ordinary day that suddenly becomes an important day for Uncle Mustache Mario, which falls on March 10th of every year. The origin of this day doesn’t have any special meaning or connection to Uncle Mustache or the Super Mario series. However, fans honor March 10th as MAR10 Day. Since it’s Uncle Mustache Mario’s birthday, let’s take a look at the history of this character’s origins and why he’s still in people’s hearts. Let’s take a look at the story of Mario Brother together.

Let's start with the first thing that many people wonder about: why does it have to be March 10? Why not some other day? And what's so interesting about March 10? I have to explain it simply. March 10 is a play on words from the West that all fans of Uncle Mario accidentally discovered, which even Nintendo didn't think of. It's the name of the month, March. In English, it's March, which has an abbreviation that we all know, MAR. When combined with the 10th, we get MAR10 (MARIO). Today has unintentionally become MAR10 Day. That's the origin of this day. As for Mario's real name, it's Mario Brother.

The character Mario was created by a Japanese game designer named Shigeru Miyamoto, an Italian plumber living in the Mushroom Kingdom. He first appeared in the game Donkey Kong in 1981 as a carpenter who went on a trip with his girlfriend. While visiting the circus, Mario teased a monkey until it got angry and broke out of its cage and captured Mario's girlfriend, so he had to help. When the idea for this game began, Mr. Shigeru wanted to use characters from the Popeye cartoon series to create it. However, when he tried to request the copyright for this cartoon, it was rejected, so Mr. Shigeru had to create the character himself. That is the origin of the birth of Uncle Mustache Mario that we know.

At that time, Shigeru intended to name the main character in the game as Mr. Video, who would represent other games in the future. But the sales department wanted to change the name to Jumpman in the English version, because he only jumped in the game. But then the turning point happened when the Donkey Kong game was very popular in Japan. Nintendo wanted to market this game in America by turning the dusty arcade games into Donkey Kong. At that time, the warehouse that Nintendo rented was owned by Grandpa Mario Segale. At that time, Grandpa Mario was having a dispute over the warehouse rental with Nintendo's president, Mr. Minoru Arakawa. Grandpa Mario breached the warehouse rental contract with Nintendo (the information did not say what the breach of contract was). In the end, Grandpa Mario had to pay compensation. That was the beginning of the story.

The story of this conflict, Mr. Don James, a former warehouse manager of Nintendo of America at the time who was present at the event, told the story in 2012 that he and Mr. Arakawa named the character after Mario to mock Grandpa Mario because after that incident, Grandpa Mario had become so isolated that no employee had ever seen him. According to the information, Grandpa Mario's friend commented that "From my understanding and direct perception, Mario Segel did not care that his name was the inspiration for this famous character. And he modestly showed pride in that fact in front of his grandchildren and close adults." In short, Grandpa was happy that his name was the name of a legendary character and showed it to his grandchildren.

Now let's take a look at Mario's occupation in the game. According to Mr. Shigeru, Uncle Mustache Mario's first occupation was a carpenter. Because the setting in Donkey Kong is a construction site, Mr. Shigeru chose Mario to be a carpenter to fit the storyline of the game. And when he appeared again in Mario Bros., it was decided that he should be a plumber. Since most of the game is set in an underground scene, he created the storyline that this is the underground in New York. As for Mario's character design, especially his big nose, it was influenced by the West. When he became a plumber, Mr. Shigeru created the storyline that he was Italian who went to work in New York.

The creation of the Mario character we see today was due to the graphical limitations of the arcade hardware at the time. Shigeru had the character wear a red overalls and a blue shirt to contrast with the other characters and the background, and to make the arm movements easier to see. He also had a red hat to avoid drawing the character's forehead and eyebrows, and to avoid the problem of animating his hair while jumping. This also made the human facial features clearer. The addition of the mustache eliminated the need to graphically draw the mouth when jumping. It was well-designed.

This is a brief history of Mario, which I believe many people should already know. But some people still don't know, so let's find out together. And up until now, the character Mario is still active in the gaming world and there are new games coming out all the time up until now. And I have to thank Mr. Miyamoto Shigeru, without him we probably wouldn't have known and played fun games like the Mario series until today. Now that I've finished talking, I want to play Mario games. Let's go pick up Uncle Mustache's game and play, guys. Let's go.

Marvel Rivals now lets you report players who leave the game mid-play

It can be said that they are taking care of their fans to the max with the online game that brings together superheroes to save the universe, Marvel Rivals, which has been open for service for only a few months but has received good feedback from players. Moreover, the game listens to fans’ opinions on what they like and what they don’t like, and they quickly adjust and fix what the fans want. This is different from many online games that don’t really care about fans’ opinions, which causes their games to fail miserably. Recently, NetEase added a new system in the latest update on March 6, which many people might not know: we can now report those who leave the competition in the middle of the ranked mode.

For those who don't understand the online game type of team competition in Ranked mode or Ranked mode, where the ranking is at stake, all players try to play seriously. But there are some players who get hot-headed, irritated, or can't play the game as they want because they think their teammates play badly (but never blame themselves for playing badly). Or the type who know that the team will definitely lose because they are cornered and have no way to win. They want to give up to their teammates, but they won't, so they leave the game to start over, in exchange for a slight adjustment to the time they can't play in Ranked mode. When the time is up, they come back to play Ranked as usual, which sometimes causes a lot of trouble for their teammates because this game can be fought back. As the author experienced, when he was about to lose, one of his teammates kept giving up, but his friends, including the author, refused (he gave up 3 times). In the end, he was able to win that round (the person who gave up was embarrassed).

The information says "You can report players who leave the game prematurely through the menu while still in the match." This means that we can send a report to the Marvel Rivals game to report people who leave the game in the middle. But there are many things that many people are curious about, such as some people leaving the game because their internet connection is lost, the power goes out, their computer explodes, their wife scolds them, aliens invade, zombies spread, or their mother calls them to fill the refrigerator with water. These are uncontrollable events. If someone reports this, what should they do? This is something that the Marvel Rivals game will have to find a way to fix.

While many Marvel Rivals fans are okay with this and really like it, this kind of announcement is also a way to scare players who like to leave the game in the middle of the game to be afraid of being reported and not daring to do it. And if you are afraid that if you are suddenly playing the game and you are pulled to another world, when you come back, will your friends report you? (An example that is most likely to happen) This is something you can relax about because gamers like you, the author or people all over the world, we will know instinctively that this person intentionally left the game or left due to force majeure. For example, if someone disappears while playing, everyone will immediately think that the power went out or that they suddenly went to another world. No one will report that player. But if it is when our team is about to lose or in the middle of the game but we are at a disadvantage and cannot fight back and someone leaves the game, everyone will know instinctively that this person intentionally left. This is definitely something that will happen without thinking.

Now that you know this, those who like to leave the game midway should be careful. As for those who are unlucky and encounter force majeure and are reported, I believe that the game should be able to file a complaint that it was caused by force majeure and not intentional. The game might go and check if it's true because, as I said, it's easy to see that people intentionally leaving and force majeure are clearly different. As for those who like to exit the game, don't do it. Think about others because you might be able to fight back and win like what the author experienced. Even though it's unlikely, it can happen. Try to believe in yourself and your team. You might have more fun playing this game. Who knows?

S.H.Figuarts Son Goku (Mini) Dragon Ball Daima Review

I believe many people have already heard the news that Akira Toriyama, the artist of Dragon Ball manga, has passed away since March 1, 2024, which is just the 1 year anniversary of his passing. The Dragon Ball Daima anime, which was shown as the teacher's last work, chose to end on March 1 to mourn the teacher. To commemorate the teacher, we would like to bring S.H.Figuarts Son Goku (Mini) -DAIMA- "Dragon Ball Daima", the teacher's latest work, to show you how cute and collectible it is. Let's take a look together.

Lego is giving away a free Mario Kart Toad (Pit Crew) for Mario Day.

When it comes to collectibles that come in the form of toys that are the most valuable in the world, one of them must be a plastic building set like Lego. Some of the collectible sets are so valuable that a single small collectible piece can buy a house or a car. The special thing that makes Lego so valuable is that it is produced only once and is sold out. It is not repeated. The blocks used in the production of each Lego set are buried in cement in front of the company. Some Lego collectible sets are therefore in high demand in the market. And if that item is a special set that is released only at that time, like Mario Kart Toad (Pit Crew) that is given away during Mario Day, how much do you think this item will be worth in the market after Mario Day has passed? If that is the case, we will hurry to tell everyone so that they know.

For those who don't know, Mario Day is the day that fans of Uncle Mustache Mario come to celebrate Mario's birthday on March 10th of every year. In fact, today is not Uncle Mustache's real birthday, but fans of the game all over the world have declared today as Mario Day because if we take the English abbreviation for the month of March, Mar, which is short for March, and combine it with the number 10, we get MAR10 (Mario). When that happens, Lego has prepared a special collection set to please fans on Mario Day with a special bonus called Mario Kart Toad (Pit Crew) to give to Lego and Uncle Mustache Mario fans. But...

It's not free (oh well), because if you want this Mario Kart Toad (Pit Crew) set, you'll need to order a Lego set from the Super Mario collection on the official Lego store for $40 or more, or buy them together for a total of $50 or more, and you'll get the Mario Kart Toad (Pit Crew) set to add to your cart for free. It comes with a free Toad mushroom, 39 pieces, and a Mario Kart racing station accessory. There was a previous Mario Kart Lego set, so you could pretty much put this Mario Kart Toad (Pit Crew) set together.

Anyone who is interested, after reading this, hurry up and order and wait to receive the free gift. There is a limited amount until March 11th only. Just think about how much this new condition collector's set will be worth after it's gone. And if you keep it for a year or two, how much will the price increase? And if it's 10 years, anyone who collects Lego and wants to make a profit from it, this set is not to be missed. It may be gone by now. We rush to tell you good news like this.
