It would take 875 years to have a full lineup of characters if Marvel Rivals were to add characters every month and a half

 

When talking about the hot new game that was just released a little over a month ago, Marvel Rivals, there's probably no need to say much about how popular and fun this game is. If anyone has been following the news from 4Gamers, you'll know that we previously reported on the creative director of NetEase Games saying that the company would be adding new heroes to Marvel Rivals every month and a half. Then X of Marvel Rivals Media (with a blue check mark) calculated that if Marvel Rivals were to use all of the Marvel heroes without repeating them and would add characters every month and a half, it would take 875 years to use all of the characters.

It leaves us speechless when faced with this calculation. No matter how you look at it, it’s impossible for Marvel Rivals to include every hero and villain in the game. We all know that Marvel has been creating characters in comic books for 86 years. So it’s not strange that there are so many heroes and villains. Roughly estimating that there are 7,000 characters, plus if you take the unique characters like Spider-Man, how many people and universes are there in Peter Parker alone? Plus, their faces and costumes are different. And if you count all the spider-powered people in Marvel, just thinking about it gives you a headache (you can tell from Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse).

As we said above, Marvel Rivals probably wouldn't be so crazy as to use every hero and villain in the game. Because it has to look at the use of the character's power moves and many other things. It's not just about liking this character and being interesting and putting it in the game. There has to be design, voice acting, postures, and balance when the character is in the game. But if you look at it positively, Marvel Rivals has an advantage over other games that are competitors like Overwatch 2. Marvel Rivals has a lot of material. So much so that you can pick any character to put in the game because there are more than 7,000 characters to choose from.

Compared to other competing games that have to create new characters, create stories, and build up the storyline, while Marvel Rivals says that it will include this hero or that hero, we already know what kind of power it will have and what kind of character it will be. There are also many character outfits to change from comics to the game's own designs. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Marvel Rivals game dares to say that it will release new heroes every month and a half because they have the raw materials ready to cook like this.
