Overwatch 2 Mid-Season 14 Updates, Chinese New Year of the Snake and Valentine's Day Events

Season 14 is here! Overwatch 2 was released for free on PC, consoles, and Nintendo Switch. This season introduced a new character, Hazard, along with a 6v6 game mode that was so well-received that Overwatch 2 added new gameplay mechanics like Min 1, Max 3, and the Overwatch Classic Moth Meta in Season 14, along with several character balance adjustments. Additionally, new game modes such as the Year of the Snake and Valentine's Day events will be added in the middle of Season 14. Let's take a look at what's interesting about this season and summarize it for you to read.

The star of this patch is the two major 6v6 game modes: Min 1, Max 3, and the Overwatch Classic Moth Meta. The first mode lets players choose one of three roles in a lineup, or to put it simply, players can freely choose different lines as long as that line has no more than three characters. The game will be based on the hero balance from the first 6v6 experiment. This mode is available now until February 3. Then, from February 4 until the end of Season 14, fans will get to enjoy a second version of Overwatch Classic called the Moth Meta. This time, it adds new characters and revamped movesets from the first release, such as Mercy's powerful Resurrect, Doomfist from the DPS era that many miss, and Symmetra's Shield Generator, the flying shield that many wanted to make a comeback.

There are also two consecutive holiday events, the first of which is the Year of the Snake Chinese New Year, which will run from today until February 3, and will bring back the Mischief & Magic, Capture the Flag, and Bounty Hunter game modes, as well as in-game challenges that reward player icons, cards, sprays, and Juno sounds. Finally, there's the Valentine's Day event, which will run for two weeks after the Chinese New Year event ends, and during the Valentine's Day event, the Cupid Hanzo's Love of Geometry game mode will be available to play.

In addition, there are also balance updates to heroes that have been added: Ramattra will have its base armor increased from 75 to 100; Echo’s damage per second on targets above 50% HP increased from 50 to 75; Tracer’s gun sway reduced by 15%; Illari’s gun (sword) heal speed increased from 3 to 3. 5 seconds; and other hero nerfs include Ana, whose burst damage and healing reduction has been reduced from 90 to 75; Juno’s orbital ray duration has been reduced from 10 to 8 seconds; damage amplification has been reduced from 35% to 30%; Hazard’s Violent Leap’s cooldown has been increased from 5 to 6 seconds; and Winston will now take a slight hit from both, with his ammo increased from 100 to 120, max charge damage increased from 50 to 60, and his ultimate charged 12% faster.

The rest are other adjustments. Anyone who's interested can go download it and play it now. And for those who don't know, Overwatch 2 is now free to play on PC, consoles, and Nintendo Switch. Whoever's available on which device is convenient, go find it and play it. You might like it so much that you'll consider it another one of your dog games. Who knows? See you in the game.
