I believe many of you reading this have already seen the teaser for Avengers: Doomsday (if not, you can check out our previous post). One of the most striking moments in the trailer is seeing Steve Rogers holding a baby, who is undoubtedly his child. This raises immediate questions: Is the baby a boy or a girl? And what role will they play in the future of the MCU? But before we dive into that, let’s explore the various universes to see who Steve Rogers has had children with besides Peggy Carter, whether they were sons or daughters, and who exactly these descendants are.
The first is Sarah Rogers, who made her debut appearance in What If...? #114. She is the daughter of Steve Rogers and Rogue, who at the time was possessed by the mind of Carol Danvers. This unique situation means that Sarah inherited her leadership skills and blonde hair from her father, while also receiving vast super strength and the ability to fly from her mother. She was named Sarah after her paternal grandmother
Next is James Rogers, who first appeared in the 2008 animated film Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow. He is the son of Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff. In this timeline, James and the children of the other Avengers were taken by Tony Stark to a secret refuge in the Arctic for their safety, while the original Avengers sacrificed their lives to stop Ultron and his robotic army. Eventually, James Rogers stepped up to lead the Next Avengers to fight against evil and honor their parents' legacy
In the comic book world, Steve is actually paired with Sharon Carter in several universes. In one of them, they have a daughter named Ellie Rogers on the parallel world of Earth-85826. Unlike Steve's other children, Ellie wasn't as fortunate; she grew up in a reality ruled by Hydra. Despite the hardships of her upbringing, Ellie eventually found a way to live a peaceful life
Now we look at a set of twins: Steve Jr. and Nicky. They are another pair of children Steve has with Sharon Carter, who appeared only once in What If...? Vol 1 #38, in a story titled 'What If Sharon Carter Had Not Died?'. This story presented a future set 50 years down the line, exploring a reality where Sharon never died, Steve was never frozen in ice, and the two were able to grow old and raise a family together
Finally, the character with the highest potential to appear in the future as Steve Rogers’ child is Sharon Rogers. The daughter of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter, she was originally created for the mobile game Marvel Future Fight and later appeared in the comic Marvel Future Fight: An Eye on the Future.
Her story takes place in a universe where Steve was never frozen in ice, a premise that feels most closely aligned with what we might see in Avengers: Doomsday. If Marvel intends to pave the way for the Young Avengers, Sharon Rogers would be the most fitting candidate to join the team
