We have finally reached the final stretch of No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger with Episode 46. As Super Sentai fans know, these series usually run for about 49 to 50 episodes. In the previous episode, the final ring finally appeared. Now that the Gozyugers have collected every ring, it’s time for them to face off against one another to claim them all. If you recall the early episodes, the Gozyugers only formed a truce to work together and gather the rings; the deal was always that they would eventually fight to decide the ultimate owner. The first match of this showdown is Gozyu Unicorn vs. Gozyu Eagle. Let’s dive into the highlights of Episode 46 and see what happens!

The episode kicks off with the Gozyugers pairing up to decide who faces whom in this final battle. The matchups are set: Match 1: Sumino vs. Kinjiro; Match 2: Ryugi vs. Rikuo; and the long-awaited Match 3: Hoeru vs. Mashiro. In this clash, every Gozyuger has their own personal motivation—except for Hoeru, who has no desire at all (despite ironically holding the most rings). Sumino is fighting to wake her sister from her slumber, while Kinjiro just wants to throw the ultimate, wildest party. Realizing this, 'Gramps' Kinjiro feels his wish is trivial compared to Sumino’s noble goal of saving her sister. Meanwhile, Fire Candle has their own agenda: protecting the people of 'World No. 1' while remaining hostile toward the people of Earth

As Gramps Kinjiro wavers on what to do, he finds himself torn: fighting for the rings for such a trivial wish feels wrong, yet refusing to fight would feel like an insult to all his past efforts. In the midst of his inner conflict, he runs into Mr. Shining Knife and Mrs. Sweet Cake, who are already stressed about Fire Candle. The two offer him guidance, helping him find his true path. Finally, Kinjiro discovers the real meaning behind the 'party' he’s been searching for—it’s a party that makes the heart race, which simply means living a life surrounded by those he loves. That is the true 'celebration of life' he has been seeking all along. With his resolve finally firm, the final battle between Sumino and Kinjiro begins

But before the battle could even begin, Mashiro senses a surge of intense bloodlust radiating through the air, as if signaling that the true 'Final Boss' is about to emerge. Setting that aside for now, we turn to the duel between Gozyu Unicorn and Gozyu Eagle. The victor is Gozyu Unicorn, though it’s glaringly obvious that Gramps threw the match. Hoeru sees right through him, but Kinjiro responds with the cool wisdom of an elder: he explains that he has finally found the 'party' that makes his heart race—and that is simply having loved ones by his side. For a party to truly be fun, there must be laughter and smiles, specifically referring to Sumino’s smile. It was a perfectly fitting conclusion to his character arc.
