Final Fantasy 7 Nomura Tetsuya is nicknamed the Demon King of Remakes

Back in the past around 1997, if anyone was born at that time or remembers, at that time, there was a great supernatural phenomenon (whoever reads this part as a song means you are not a child anymore) in the gaming industry. Because the legendary godlike game Final Fantasy Vll was released on PlayStation 1 by leaving Nintendo to join Sony because the PlayStation console was a CD that produced and stored data better than the cartridge type of Nintendo 64 at that time. But who would have thought that before becoming the Final Fantasy Vll game that we see today, Square had to go through a lot of hard work. And one of the hard work that the developers complained about at that time was the fussiness of Mr. Tetsuya Nomura, the director who supervised the game. Until the team at that time gave him the nickname "The Demon King of Remakes".

For those who don't know, Nomura Tetsuya joined Square in 1991. His job was to fix bugs in Final Fantasy IV. His amazing drawing skills led him to become the monster designer for Final Fantasy V, and then the graphics director for Final Fantasy V. He then worked on several smaller projects, until one day Nomura was asked to be the main character designer for Final Fantasy VII, replacing Amano, who had been designing characters in the Final Fantasy series for a long time, because Amano's style was difficult to make into 3D graphics.

In addition to designing characters, Nomura also came up with the idea for the Limit Break attack, and he also participated in the storyline, including thinking of important elements such as Aerith's death, which came from his idea. In 1998, Nomura worked on Parasite Eve and Brave Fencer Musashi, and then he designed the characters and monsters for Final Fantasy VIII.

During his time in charge of the art direction of Final Fantasy VII, Nomura was quite the picky eater. According to a 1997 interview with 10 developers who worked on the game, GamesRadar Collection told the publication at the time that Nomura's "attention to detail" earned him a nickname that, in the world of Final Fantasy, was the "Demon King of Reworks." Narita, who worked with Nomura at the time, said that "he would always order the designers to redo something, like, 'No, that's wrong, can you fix it?'"

But that's not a bad thing, because Mr. Kanzaki Kenzo, a former collaborator of Mr. Nomura, said, "Thanks to his nagging, we were able to create realistic animations." Mr. Nomura admitted that he did nagged the development team. He said, "Capturing everyday movements is important, because that's where the character's personality comes out." Because of this nagging, we got to see the great Final Fantasy VII that we played at that time. In addition to being called the Demon King of Remakes, he also has another nickname, the Demon King.
