It was right that Capcom allowed PC and console fans to try out the Monster Hunter Wilds demo late last year, and it received very positive feedback from fans. If you’ve been following our news, you’ll know that Monster Hunter Wilds on consoles seems normal. However, for PC users, many problems have arisen. And the thing that PC fans complained about the most, aside from the various bugs, is the recommended system specs. Many people complained that they were too high. When Capcom saw this, news came out that Capcom was considering lowering the recommended GPU specs for Monster Hunter Wilds for fans.
The story comes from Monster Hunter Germany's X account (with the gold tick next to its name), telling fans: "The video you see here is an overview of the updated Prioritize Performance mode for PS5. The team has fixed the rendering issues that occurred during the previous beta testing and is working on several improvements after launch. The team's next goal is to improve performance when launching on PC. Performance will be further improved as the team continues to refine and evaluate whether the recommended GPU requirements can be lowered. We also plan to release a free StandAlone hardware benchmark tool."
For those who don't know, Monster Hunter Wilds on PC requires quite high specs to run the game smoothly. Currently, the Steam page for Monster Hunter Wilds recommends a minimum of an Nvidia GTX 2070 Super or RTX 4060 graphics card. Anyone whose PC specs don't meet those requirements but still want to play this game will probably know if their computer can run it or not. But that's just a demo; the real thing will have to be tested again. Many people want Capcom to lower the specs a bit more to allow people with low budgets to play this game. Capcom probably sees this as well, hence this news.
We'll have to wait and see if Capcom can reduce the GPU requirement. If they can, it would be a big benefit for PC users who don't have the budget to upgrade their computers to play this game. The original news said that Capcom has not confirmed whether they can do this or not. We'll have to wait and see. In addition, Capcom has also released a testing tool for PC users to see if their computers can play Monster Hunter Wilds. This way, they won't have to waste money buying the game and then not being able to play it. They really care about their fans. If there's any progress, we'll report it again.
