In the past few months, if anyone in the gaming industry must have heard the news of a new game in the Elden Ring series, Elden Ring Nightreign, a spin-off game that has changed to an online system for us and our friends to go into the wasteland to do various missions. At the moment, the game and From Software have not released the game for testing. But now, there is a game Elden Ring Nightreign to play on Steam, which has become another big news for the PC industry. Because this matter is a scam, there is a warning for PC players to be careful. If you see a message inviting you to play the game Elden Ring Nightreign to download and try it out, do not download it because it is a fake from hackers to steal your information.
According to the information, this story has been warned in the Elden Ring fan community, telling everyone that if there is a message sent on Steam that is an invitation to join the Elden Ring Nightreign test, the invitation will be a link to a fake Steam page that hackers have created to trick us into installing the data on our PC. The Elden Ring Nightreign game will have a real game test on February 14, 2025, and it is not even on PC, but will only be available to those who register on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
And a user named Nikoheart (no check mark) posted a screenshot of the Steam interface message sent to him for all to see, saying, "Please be extra careful. If you're on Steam and excited to playtest Elden Ring Nightreign, there's a scam that will hack your Steam account and send a message about it to all your friends. Be aware. Be careful."
The link, which looks like the one in the image above, will send us to our Steam inbox to a fake Steam page. When we click on the fake Steam and load the fake Elden Ring Nightreign, our account will send a bunch of messages to our real Steam friends list and it will instantly block our account, something that even our Steam Guard two-step verification system can't do anything about.
Computer users should know that when we load a hacker's program onto our computer, the hacker will be able to control everything on our computer, including the various passwords we have, including game accounts that may be changed so that we can't get our Steam accounts back. The hacker will also sell our accounts for profit, and use our data for other things. It's a loss, and some people may be held for ransom in exchange for everything they've stolen.
And now, many players claim to have been affected by this hack. Some have reported that they can no longer access the game after contacting Steam Support. This is not the first time this has happened, as there have been previous incidents of hacking and scams on Steam. At the time, the hackers sent messages to gamers telling them that Helldivers 2 was on sale, so people rushed to buy the game through the link, which led to several accounts being stolen. Now, it's back, so we're here to warn everyone to be careful and help spread the word, it would be great.
