As we step into the conclusion of the first arc of Kamen Rider Zeztz, the series maintains a brisk pace that sets it apart from its predecessors. Rather than following the traditional formula of fighting minor minions episode after episode before facing a major threat, Zeztz intertwines rescuing people with uncovering the central mysteries surrounding the main characters. This approach keeps the narrative tight and far more engaging than previous entries.
As the first arc concludes, the second arc begins with the introduction of a new villain: The Lady. Her twisted goal is to grant 'freedom' to humanity by manifesting their nightmares. Let’s dive into the highlights of Kamen Rider Zeztz Episode 15 and see what's in store!
This episode picks up right where we left off, after Baku successfully overcame his own nightmare to unlock a powerful new form: Kamen Rider Zeztz Inazuma Plasma. This form grants him the devastating speed of a lightning strike. As established, the 'Capsem' units Zeztz uses for transformation function by harnessing the power of nightmares for combat. By successfully sealing his own nightmare into a Capsem, Baku has come to a crucial realization—that Nox must also possess a nightmare of his own.
This discovery sheds light on Nox’s true objective: he seeks the belt specifically to confront his personal nightmare. However, since a nightmare is a manifestation of one's deepest fears, fighting it is like waging a war against something that feels impossible to defeat
One of the recurring nightmares haunting Nox is the memory of his defeat at the hands of a 'Nightmare'—a monster born from his own fears. Having learned that human nightmares can manifest into these entities, Nox previously sealed away Baku's childhood nightmare to prevent him from suffering the same fate.
In this latest nightmare, Nox is forced to relive the moment his organization abandoned him, leaving him on a suicide mission with no hope of rescue. Baku has faced similar isolation in battle; however, thanks to his over-the-top 'chunnibyou' personality and his constant desire to impress girls, he’s managed to survive every time. Meanwhile, Nemu-chan is in an even worse spot—she’s stuck in someone else's dream and has absolutely no clue how to get out!
As Episode 15 draws to a close, Seven successfully subdues Nox’s nightmare, clearing the path for Nox to move forward with his next phase. This marks the official transition into the series' second arc, featuring the debut of The Lady—the mysterious figure pulling the strings behind Nox.
She makes a cryptic entrance, musing, 'Last night, I dreamed I was a butterfly fluttering about. Was that a good dream? I wonder if butterflies ever dream of being human?' To which Nox coldly replies, 'Both are nightmares.' It’s an incredibly intriguing introduction for a new antagonist. And if that wasn't enough, Zeztz is already slated to receive another new form in the next episode! Let’s wait and see what happens next!
