Now we are counting down to 2025. At the end of the year, various media outlets often compile their own interesting statistics and post them for us to know. One of them is the famous legal manga reading website, MANGA Plus. The website for reading comics published by SHUEISHA publishes the latest manga episodes each week for free, so we don’t have to read them on illegal websites. Some stories are also translated into Thai. At the end of the year, MANGA Plus has released the statistics of the most viewed episodes in 2024, showing which stories and episodes were viewed (unfortunately, the number of views was not given). We will not go into details about each episode, to prevent those who have only watched the anime or haven’t read it yet from knowing. Let’s see what the top 10 stories and episodes are.
Starting at number 10 is a brand-new manga that has ranked 10th in the number of readers just from its first episode, surpassing other manga creators such as MAD drawn by Yusuke Ootori. This sci-fi fantasy manga has 15 episodes so far, so go read it if you’re interested. In 9th place is none other than the legendary manga series that takes so long to release each episode that readers have forgotten about it, Hunter x Hunter. The episode with the most readers is episode 401, which was the first episode many years after the creator disappeared. In 8th place is the recently ended manga Oshi no Ko, Reborn as the Child of an Oshi. Many people unanimously agreed that the ending wasn’t very satisfying for fans, and the episode with the most readers was the last episode.
Moving on to number 7, which is a brand new manga that has climbed to number 7 for the most-read manga, surpassing many of its seniors, with Drama Queen written by Ishikawa Kuraku. It is a fantasy story with 4 episodes so far, and the content is quite interesting. If you are looking for a fun manga, go find it and read it. If number 6 was not ranked, it would be strange for a manga like Dragon Ball Super, which has been without a sequel for a year since the death of Toriyama. The most-read episode in 2024 was episode 102, which was the episode where Goku tested his skills with Gohan in his beast form, so many people were interested in reading it. It is quite surprising that number 5 is not higher, with the One Piece manga series ranked 5th, with the most-read episode being episode 1117 (I thought it was the episode where Loki appeared).
Coming in at number 4, many people can probably guess what it is because it is a manga that just finished its final chapter, My Hero Academia. The ending of this manga didn't really please fans, but the manga's greatness has made it okay. The chapter that people read the most was the last chapter. Moving on to number 3, the manga that almost died but made a great comeback, BORUTO. Ever since Masashi Kishimoto came to help refine the story, the manga has become more fun and the chapter that people read the most is chapter 9 of the new story that BORUTO readers will know well.
We have reached number 2 for the manga that just ended, but readers seem to agree that it didn’t end well with Jujutsu Kaisen. Many people can probably guess which part of the story it is because it is the part where the person returns to the battlefield in chapter 260 (I thought it would be chapter 261 at first). Now we have the number 1 manga with the most readers on the Manga Plus website, which is Chainsaw Man. The chapter with the most readers is chapter 167, which many people say is Denji is an adult now, or some people call it the coconut milk and condensed milk chapters, whatever you want to call them.
