Game fans have praised Leon's appearance in Resident Evil Requiem, saying he is very handsome

Many of you reading this likely agree: Leon S. Kennedy’s appearance in the Resident Evil Requiem trailer is a masterclass in character execution. The reception has been even more explosive than anticipated. Now appearing as a 51-year-old in the ninth installment, fans worldwide are unanimously crowning 'Uncle Leon' as the new ultimate 'Internet Husband' of the gaming world. His rugged, aged look has inspired many to say, 'I want to age as gracefully as him.' Let’s dive into the overwhelming praise and see just how much fans are loving this iconic return."

Leon’s appearance in Resident Evil Requiem serves a purpose far deeper than mere fan service. Capcom’s true objective in bringing him back is to provide a definitive conclusion to his legendary arc, allowing him to pass the torch to a new generation (while Chris Redfield still has unfinished business to attend to). The Leon we see now wears his experience on his face; every wrinkle tells a story of the countless battles he has endured to reach this point—and the result is undeniably cool. As one fan, Temporary_Round555, put it: 'He looks worn out, yet perfectly groomed. Honestly, the character design is top-tier

The fan reactions perfectly capture this shift in perception. 'We used to have Dad Chris, now we have Dad Leon,' noted EmilioTremaine. Another user, CrazyFreakAdro, playfully praised his enduring appeal, saying, 'You're still as beautiful as the last time I saw you.'
The last time we saw an aged Leon was back in Resident Evil 6. In Japan, this new rugged version has earned the nickname 'Ikeoji' (イケオジ), a popular slang term used to describe a cool, charming, middle-aged man—which is exactly the design intention Capcom had in mind.

On a personal note, I believe it is highly unlikely (and frankly, ill-advised) for Capcom to kill off a legendary 'SSS-tier' character like Leon. Such a move could severely impact the Resident Evil brand, as killing off a beloved protagonist often causes more backlash than benefit—just look at the controversy Naughty Dog faced to see how that can turn out. Furthermore, Japanese storytelling culture rarely resorts to killing off its main icons without an extremely profound reason.
Unlike Ethan Winters, whose death served a clear narrative purpose to pass the torch to his daughter, Leon’s death wouldn't serve any logical necessity. While Ethan’s continued presence might have complicated the plot, Leon remains a pillar of the franchise. There’s simply no compelling reason to end his journey permanently. Rest assured, if there are any further updates on his fate, we’ll be sure to report them right away
