Or could Leon be infected? Sharp-eyed fans spotted something on Leon in the Resident Evil Requiem trailer.
Many of you reading this news have probably already seen the official trailer introducing Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil Requiem, and you'll likely all agree that he's here, and he looks incredibly cool in this 50-year-old veteran look, having seen countless life-threatening battles. The trailer showcases some cool scenes of him fighting zombies, and in one particular scene, Capcom shows Leon standing confidently. However, some fans noticed a strange mark on his neck, leading to theories that Leon might have contracted a new disease in the game, thus getting involved in the plot. Let's find out the answer.
This all started when a user named helia (@cIoudgf) posted a picture of Leon from the trailer with the caption, "Like, what happened to him?" If you look closely, you can see what appears to be dark, necrotic marks on Leon's neck, which matches the documents he's looking at in the game trailer (image below). Fan theories suggest Leon may have been infected again, but this time it's different. Some speculate that Leon might not be as lucky this time with Ada's help, leading some to even guess that Leon might die in this game.
Besides the theory that Leon is infected, there are also some hints from Dusk Golem, a famous rumor spreader. He was one of the first to say that Leon would be a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem. At the time, many people were skeptical. Now, he posted an image of zombies from the Resident Evil Director's Cut that seems to suggest that Leon might become a zombie this time. It's important to note that Dusk Golem didn't actually write that; he just posted the image and left it for us to interpret and consider for ourselves.
Regarding Ada Wong, Leon's love interest, Dusk Golem had already mentioned before Leon's official debut that Ada would definitely appear this time. This appearance will determine the conclusion of their story, or perhaps they already ended up together but are now separated. We'll have to wait and see in the game, and we'll report any further developments.
