After a one-week New Year's break, Kamen Rider Zeztz returns to kick off the second arc of the story. In the previous episode, Baku rescued Nox, a former Agent No. 4 who had been abandoned by the organization. Driven by resentment, Nox sought revenge, but Baku stepped in to defeat the Nightmare, successfully pulling Nox out of his own bad dream and back into reality. In this episode, we are introduced to a new character named Lady, a mysterious figure whose true intentions—whether good or evil—remain unknown. The story begins with Baku inside someone’s dream. This time, he finds himself as 'Nemu-chan Fanclub Member No. 0000007.' Before long, a Wolf Nightmare (who is seen drooling at the sight of Nemu-chan) kidnaps her. Baku rushes to save her but is blocked by Zero, as Baku has now been branded a traitor to the organization. However, suspicious of the organization's hidden motives, Baku decides he must remain on the inside to investigate. He offers an apology to Zero and vows to commit to his duties, asking for a second chance at work in order to uncover the truth behind the organization's secrets
Meanwhile, Zero likely has no other agents left to use, which is why he had to accept Baku back—or perhaps it’s because Baku possesses an intriguing power that makes him worth keeping. If Zero were to fight seriously, Baku’s transformed state wouldn’t stand a chance, as seen earlier when Nox fought Zero. In that first encounter, Nox was completely outmatched in both strength and speed, suffering a total defeat. However, once Nox switched to his new belt and form, he instantly surpassed Zero. In this new state, Nox draws fully upon the power of Nightmares, becoming almost one with them. Zero warned Nox that utilizing such power would eventually consume his body, but Nox seems more than willing to pay that price
Another noteworthy detail in this episode is Nox’s transformation sequence. Previously, Nox didn’t use the word 'Henshin' (Transform), opting instead for 'Infiltrate.' But this time, he confidently declares 'Henshin!' Furthermore, the 'Capsem' used for his transformation now features a flip-open lid rather than the twisting mechanism of the older models. It’s as if opening the lid unleashes the full extent of the dark power, whereas the old belt required twisting the Capsem to extract only a fraction of that energy. It is no surprise then that this new belt is significantly more powerful than the previous version, as it allows Nox to harness the nightmare's power at its full potential
Episode 16 marks only the beginning of the second arc, leaving many new mysteries yet to be revealed. We are left wondering: What is Nox’s next goal? Who is Lady? How does Nemu-chan fit into this plan? Who created this new belt? What dark secrets is the organization hiding, and what exactly are the 'Nightmares'? Everything awaits discovery in the upcoming episodes
