Mask Rider Zeztz Episode 18: The Cram School's Secret Begins to Unfold

It’s safe to say that every single episode has been an absolute thrill to follow. Kamen Rider Zeztz Episode 18 continues the long-running saga of Code 007, also known as Baku. He must journey through people's dreams to eliminate nightmares that are trying to cross over into the human world for a mysterious purpose. Previously, the 'Seven' side suffered a major loss when Zero, the robot commander of the organization, was destroyed. However, Code 3 has now stepped up as the new commander—though he seems far from friendly. This latest episode is packed with intriguing moments and key plot revelations. Let’s dive in and see what makes Kamen Rider Zeztz Episode 18 so interesting!

"The story picks up right where the last episode left off. Baku meets the new commander, Code 3, who arrives with an intense and aggressive personality. Immediately upon arrival, Code 3 beats Baku into unconsciousness to force him into a mission—entering the dream of Kureha, a friend of the policewoman Natsuka. This time, the nightmare takes the form of a Battle Royale game. Students in the school are given random weapons and must hunt down the Nightmares before the monsters kill everyone. Those who die in the dream world vanish from the real world, leading to strange occurrences at the school (though the exact nature of these anomalies isn't fully explained). The highlight of this episode is the revelation of how Nightmares are born. They originate in 'Lady’s Flower Garden,' emerging from butterflies that come out of Nemu-chan after a Nightmare is defeated

What we know so far is that Lady and Nox are hunting down Nightmares and eliminating them to turn them into 'Dream Butterflies.' Once a Dream Butterfly becomes a pupa (a form of reverse evolution), it transforms into a full-fledged Nightmare. These creatures then infiltrate people's nightmares, twisting the dreamer's deepest desires into their polar opposites. To succeed, a Nightmare must unlock three gates that represent the psychological trauma or 'knots' within the dreamer's mind. We can identify which Nightmares belong to Knox because he will actively protect them; if they aren't his, he destroys them without hesitation. Nemu-chan serves as the original host or 'seed' for creating these Dream Butterflies. However, their ultimate goal remains a mystery. All we know is that Lady and Knox intend to destroy the 'Code' organization, but the rest of their plan is still hidden in the shadows

Now, let’s focus on the heart of this episode: Kureha, Natsuka’s childhood friend. The two went their separate ways after middle school, and Kureha never explained why she gave up on her dream of becoming a professional basketball player. However, by the end of the episode, we discover a shocking truth—Kureha is a former 'Number,' just like Code 007 (Seven). If you look closely at the scene where she checks the cylinder of her revolver, her movements are incredibly skilled and professional. She is the only student in the school armed with a real weapon capable of killing enemies, and she maneuvers through gunfire with ease. This leaves us wondering: could we see Kureha transform in the future, or perhaps see a flashback of her as a Rider? If that happens, it would be a game-changer. Since the previous series lacked a female Rider, having one now would be a fantastic addition to the story!

"Another intriguing point is the children at the cram school, where Knox served as the supervising teacher. We’ve already seen a young Baku there, and now Kureha has been added to the mix. If I had to guess, Code 3 was likely part of this group as well. It seems the secrets of the 'Organization' are gradually being unveiled. We’ll have to wait and see how things unfold in the next episode. I must say, the more I watch, the more addictive and exciting this series becomes! What will happen next? What other interesting details will be revealed? I’ll definitely be back next week to bring you more updates.
