Looking back 15 years ago, if you can recall, we were all buzzing with excitement for the new Man of Steel. This wasn't 'Sena Hoy' (a Thai comedian), but the incredibly handsome Henry Cavill, with muscles so toned you’d just want to take a little bite—oops! (If you read that like a song, you're definitely not a kid anymore!).
He looked perfect for the role from every single angle. Directed by Zack Snyder, Henry wasn't actually the first or only actor considered for the part. Before he was officially cast, he had to undergo a screen test to see if the suit truly fit him. And here it is: the rare photo of Henry Cavill in the Superman suit from 15 years ago, shared with us by Zack Snyder himself

This specific photo was taken by Snyder during Henry Cavill’s screen test for the 2013 film Man of Steel. In the photo, Cavill is wearing the same style of suit worn by the legendary Christopher Reeve, whom many fans still remember fondly.
Snyder shared the memory, saying: '15 years ago today, I pressed the shutter and found my Superman. This is the first photo I ever took of Henry Cavill before he became a legend. Shot with my Nikon.' To be honest, looking at that photo, Henry wasn't quite as buff as he is now. Maybe back then he was spending a bit too much time gaming and didn't have enough time for the gym!
Since then, Zack Snyder has posted similar photos a few more times, stating, 'Henry Cavill in the original Superman suit. This photo... was the one that made him undeniable.' He later shared another shot and added, 'From the last photo I shared, including this one that we showed to WB (Warner Bros.), everyone agreed that Henry Cavill was our Superman, and that was the beginning of the whole journey.'
Interestingly, if anyone recalls, Henry Cavill almost missed out on the role because he was so deep into gaming at the time! He actually missed several calls from the production team inviting him to screen test for Superman. Luckily, he picked up the very last call just in time, which is why we ended up with the incredibly buff Superman we know today
To be honest, Henry Cavill has changed quite a bit from then to now. If you didn't know any better, you might not even realize it’s the same person! These are truly rare photos, and it makes you wonder what was going through 'Papa' Zack Snyder’s head when he decided to post them.
Is he dropping hints that Henry Cavill might return as Superman in some sort of multiverse scenario? Or maybe a cameo in Supergirl? Who knows—we’re all just guessing here! Or perhaps he just felt like posting them for no particular reason at all. But regardless of the reason, Henry Cavill has already cemented his place as one of the best Supermen the cinematic world has ever known
